PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can prevent image quality degradation due to bleeding between colors, and can prevent curing of ink inside nozzles. SOLUTION: An ultraviolet curing type ink is used for a drawing ink. First curing means (spare curing light sources 16A, 16B and 16C) for carrying out ultraviolet irradiation of a relatively low energy of a level whereat ink liquid droplets are half cured are set among inkjet heads by color (12K, 12M, 12C and 12Y). On the other hand, a second curing means (main curing light source 18) is set at the latter part of the inkjet head of a final color, which carries out ultraviolet irradiation of energy enough to cure (substantially cure) the ink liquid droplets to a level whereat image deterioration by handling at a downstream side process is prevented. An ultraviolet LED element group is used as the spare curing light source 16, and a mode of controlling a light emitting element number or an emitting quantity of light in accordance with a recording medium width, a striking droplet ink region, a recording medium reflectance or the like is preferred.
