PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column material precutting machine which can adapt to both a conventional construction method and a metallic material construction method, which prevents an increase in the number of components and the upsizing of an apparatus, and which reduces total working time. SOLUTION: A tenon working unit 700 for the conventional construction method is ascendably/descendably mounted on the backside of the column 842; a butt-end drilling unit 1000 for the metallic construction method is ascendably/descendably provided on the front side of the same column 842; a surface working unit 300 is mounted on the upstream side of a tenon working position; a moving type positioning unit is provided on the downstream side; a positioning stopper, which protrudes/recedes with respect to the tenon working position on the upstream side, is provided; and control for prepositioning the leading end of a last-in material is carried out by the stopper while a back end of the column material is mortised.
