PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storing apparatus, such as an incubator, equipped with at least one motor in a chamber thereof, capable of keeping the inside of the chamber at a prescribed temperature, regardless of position. SOLUTION: This storing apparatus has the chamber 11, wherein a transport mechanism for transporting containers which hold samples is arranged in the chamber 11, a plurality of motors 82, 83, 84 used for power sources of the transport mechanism is supplied with electric power from a driving and controlling device 6 installed outside the chamber 11, and the driving and controlling device 6 cuts off electric power supply circuits to drivers 67, 68, 69 for the motors 82, 83, 84 in a period in which operation of the transport mechanism is stopped.
