A compression tool is rotated in a press chamber(16) with an outlet(17). The driving axis for the compression tool is fixed and a storage container(2) for material to be agglomerated is mounted above the agglomerator(1). Material therefore flows in a straight line downwards out of the storage container into the press chamber. The storage container(2) tapers conically inwards towards the base and has a conveying screw(9) at the lower end for conveying material to an outlet of the container. Stirrer blades precede the conveying screw and the stirrer and conveying screw are on a common shaft(3) powered by the same motor(4). An upper cover of the press chamber housing can be raised together with the storage container and can swiveled around a vertical axis parallel to the rotation axis of the agglomerator. The aggolomerator drive motor(12) is located to one side of the machine and linked to the agglomerator by either chains, belts, gear wheels or shafts.
