<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of accelerating access to image data by buffering suited for the image data in the printer which produces image data for each pixel from an intermediate code and performs printing. <P>SOLUTION: A printer for producing image data for each pixel from an intermediate code and performing printing based on the image data includes a data storage means 7 of a DRAM for storing the produced image data, a control means 13 for performing processing for producing the image data from the intermediate code, and a data holding means 16 comprising a buffer that is a SRAM, for reading image data stored in the data storage means accessed by the control means into the buffer and causing the control means to access the read image data, wherein data capacitance simultaneously accessible from the data holding means 16 to the data storage means 7 is greater than data capacitance simultaneously accessible from the control means 13 to the data storage means 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
