<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation for external use, having collagen synthesis promoting effect, and effectively preventing age-related skin aging. <P>SOLUTION: The biogenic collagen synthesis promotor of the skin care preparation for external use contains a powder, extracts or extracted components containing Coptis japonica and/or at least one selected from berberine, palmatine, coptisine, worenine, jateorrhizine, magnoflorine, ferulic acid and chlorogenic acid as an active component.
