<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer for thermosensitive recording material, the color developing sensitivity, water resistance, oil resistance and light fastness of which are excellent equally to or more than those obtained under the condition that bisphenol A is employed as a raw material, and its manufacturing method and a thermosensitive recording material including the developer for the thermosensitive recording material and the thermosentive recording material employing thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The developer for the thermosensitive recording material includes a compound represented by the general formula, wherein preferably R<SB>1</SB>is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a methyl group and an isopropyl group, n is integers from 1 through 3, R<SB>2</SB>is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a hydroxyl group and a methyl group, m is integers from 1 through 3.
