PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile apparatus and a facsimile network system equipped with it, that is connected to a network and can transmit an original to a facsimile apparatus connected to a public network, but the facsimile machine itself is not required to be connected to the public network. SOLUTION: A communication network 101 comprises an IP relay type facsimile apparatus 105 that has a relay function to a public network 102, and an IP communication type facsimile apparatus 106 having a means for transmitting an original to a public network type facsimile apparatus 103 through it. The IP relay type facsimile apparatus 105 converts the image file into a signal mode which the public network type facsimile apparatus 103 can receive and then transmits it.
