PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of accurately obtaining a featured value of a target to be measured even when an area to be measured is not completely detected in a state that the accuracy of pattern matching is rough. SOLUTION: The image processor is provided with a pattern detection circuit 103 for detecting a specific pattern area, an area expansion circuit 104 for generating an expanded pattern area on a position of digital image data, a number-of-data determination circuit 105 for outputting the number of effective pixels for extracting the featured value, a target pixel selection circuit 106 for selecting a target pixel for extracting the featured value, and a featured value calculation circuit 107 for extracting the featured value and constituted so that the target pixel selection circuit 106 rearranges pixels in the expanded pattern area in the descending order of information values of respective pixels, selects the rearranged pixels on the basis of the number of effective pixels and uses the selected pixels for the extraction of the featured value.
