PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function activating device effective for refolding a protein, namely, activating a function of the protein, and to provide a method for using the same. SOLUTION: The molded material for refolding the protein comprises zeolite beta which activates the function/activity inherent in an inactive protein or a deactivated protein by being brought into contact with the proteins, wherein the inactive protein is produced by Escherichia coli, etc., a high-order structure of the inactive protein has not been formed yet, and the deactivated protein is changed in its three-dimensional structure due to a certain reason. The function activating method for the inactive protein uses the molded material. A production method for the activated protein utilizes the function activating method. The production method has high versatility and universality, and is easy, simple, and convenient, when compared with conventional methods.
