PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive recording device having excellent operability with a paper feed device for extension mounted thereon. SOLUTION: The recording device has a guide member which is located at the position to close a sheet carrying passage when any paper feed device for extension is not mounted thereon, pressed by a part of the paper feed device for extension when the paper feed device for extension is mounted, and moved to form a guide forming the sheet carrying passage.
