PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counterbalance type fork lift allowing mounting of apparatus such as a control unit in a position nearer the rear of the vehicle body and facilitating the maintenance work of the mounted apparatus. SOLUTION: The counterbalance type fork lift is equipped with a loading/unloading device 4 installed in the front of a vehicle body frame 1, a battery accommodation chamber 3 to admit mounting of a battery 5 formed approximately in the central part, and a counterweight 5 installed in the rear, wherein an apparatus accommodation chamber 10 having openings opened above and in the left and right side faces is formed between the battery accommodation chamber 3 and the counterweight 5, and is furnished with a top cover 11 to cover the opening 10a in the over-part of the chamber 10 and side covers 12 to cover the openings 10b on the sides. This allows the maintenance work of the apparatus to be applied from over and the sides of the chamber 10 upon opening the top cover 11 and the side covers 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
