The invention relates to a device for a particle separator ( 10 ) for separation of particles in a liquid, gas or both, where the separator comprises an outer cylinder ( 12 ), or tank, which is equipped with an upper inlet opening ( 14 ) and an upper and a lower outlet opening ( 16, 18 ) for export of liquid/gas and particles, respectively. Furthermore, the separator comprises a shaft ( 22 ) equipped with a number of vanes or blades ( 24 ), that are arranged to be driven by an adjoining motor ( 20 ). A centrally placed pipe-formed inner cylinder ( 26 ) is arranged around the shaft ( 22 ) with said vanes or blades ( 24 ), where the inner cylinder comprises a number of slits ( 36 ). The invention also relates to a method for separation of particles in a liquid and/or gas.
