A method for digital control of a group of components, e.g. for a model railway, has a number of hand controls (8 to 10) connected to a central control (6) which connects to the components via the rails (2). The digital system is operated via synchronisation clocking pulses with all the command and other data transmitted during the synchronisation signals, including the separate digital addresses of the components.
