The inventive image-producing method consists in forming light-scattering elements in a blank volume in one laser radiation impulse which is provided with a predetermined direction diagram, thereby making it possible to observe an image from the two or three or four blank surfaces. The inventive device for producing images comprises a laser radiation beam-expanding unit (14) and a set of differently shaped optical elements (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20) for controlling the direction diagram of the laser radiation beam.
