A double-stranded RNA having a specific base sequence is useful in treating a cell proliferative disease. This double-stranded RNA serves as the siRNA of Rad51 gene. This double-stranded RNA per se inhibits cell proliferation. When administered together with a chemotherapeutic agent, the double-stranded RNA further enhances the pharmacological effect. It is particularly effective to use the double-stranded RNA together with a drug having an effect of inhibiting the synthesis of a nucleic acid or an effect of injuring a nucleic acid.
