<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio reproducing apparatus capable of providing an excellent surround effect by a loudspeaker system arranged only in front of a listening position. <P>SOLUTION: Among multi-channel audio signals L, R, C, SL and SR outputted from an audio reproducing apparatus 15, an audio reproduction system 50 allows a left loudspeaker SPK1 located at the front left side of a listening position m to output the signal L outputted from the audio reproduction apparatus 15, allows a right loudspeaker SPK3 at the front right side to output the signal R, allows two loudspeakers SPK6, SPK7 at front left and right in front arranged close to each other to output the signal C, and allows virtual sound source loudspeakers 13, 14 at rear left and right sides to output the signals SL, SR and to localize virtual sound sources, and a signal processing means 19 outputs audio signals (k×C+SL×f13+SR×f14 and k×C+SR×f15+SL×f16) processed by the signal processing means employing virtual sound source localizing filters H1, H2 obtained from a head transfer function for localizing the virtual sound sources of the signals SR, SL, where relations of k=0.7, H1=f13=f15 and H2=f14=f16 are established. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
