<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive completely integrated by including an integrated circuit used for a motor drive circuit and an electric power switch. <P>SOLUTION: The motor drive comprises an electric power semiconductor switching device having a pair of main current carrier terminals connected in series to a motor, a current control loop having a current sensor for this device for controlling a current passing therethrough, a current limiting circuit driving this loop so as to maintain the current in this device to a desired level to have a first/second input, a speed regulating circuit having an input connected to a speed control input and an input connected to feedback voltage from the motor representing an actual speed to tender an output to the first input of the current limiting circuit in a manner of driving the motor at a desired speed, and a power limiting circuit limiting electric power consumed by the motor to a prescribed level to tender an output to the second input of the current limiting circuit and having an input connected so as to receive the feedback voltage from the motor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
