<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate which contributes to alleviation of uneven luminance and optical leak resulting from temperature distribution and temperature gradient generated in a liquid crystal display and to provide the liquid crystal display using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate at least has a polarizing film, a protection film which protects the polarizing film arranged on at least one surface of the polarizing film and a translucent medium having thermal conductivity with a value larger than that of the protection film arranged by contacting with the surface of the protection film. In addition, the liquid crystal display device has a pair of substrates at least one of which has the electrode and oppositely arranged, a liquid crystal layer provided between the substrates, a pair of polarizing plates which sandwiched and arranged the liquid crystal layer, and a light source and/or a driving circuit on the outside of either of the polarizing plates. The polarizing plate arranged on the side near the light source and/or the driving circuit has the polarizing film, the protection film which protects the polarizing film arranged on at least one surface of the polarizing film and the translucent medium having the thermal conductivity with the value larger than that of the protection film arranged by contacting with the surface of the protection film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
