PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of improving safety in underwater photographing with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The digital camera according to the invention is characterized in that the camera comprises a photographing means for photographing an image of an object, a display means for having a display screen on which the image photographed by the photographing means is displayed, a storage medium holding means for holding a storage medium so as to be freely detachable, in order to store the image photographed by the photographing means, a detecting means for detecting holding of the storage medium by the storage medium holding means, a counting means for starting time measurement when holding of the storage medium by the storage medium holding means is detected by the detecting means, and a warning means for displaying a warning information on the display screen if a measured time by the counting means exceeds a preset underwater stay possible time.
