PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of reducing load imposed on processing of an image processing unit side, and further reducing an apparatus configuration in size and cost. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with an electronic camera 101 for acquiring image data obtained by picking up an image; a region extractor 113 for detecting the feature of the image data acquired by the electronic camera 101 for a video image processing apparatus provided with a video processor 3 for creating display data capable of processing the acquired image data, and displaying an image in a predetermined format; a label number encoder 115 for specifying label information indicating the detected feature; a UV signal label number multiplexing section 109 for transferring the label number specified by the encoder 115 to the section 3 together with the image data; and a UV signal port 119b.
