PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device capable of outputting the video image of a camera which the front or the face of a subject faces by photographing the same subject from a plurality of directions. SOLUTION: For the one subject 11, cameras 1, 2 for photographing the subject from a plurality of different directions, and a direction/position arithmetic operation section 14 calculates (detects) the position and direction of the subject 11 by using transmitters 12R, 12L and receivers 13A, 13B, 13C, thereby automatically switching a camera into any one of the cameras 1 and 2 for photographing the subject 11 who facing the front.
