PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric material with a comparatively large output factor and a low-enough coefficient of thermal conductivity, which has a MgAgAs-type crystal structure exhibiting a high dimensionless performance index ZT, as well as a thermoelectric transducer using this. SOLUTION: The thermoelectric material is expressed as a compositional formula (Ti<SB>a1</SB>Zr<SB>b1</SB>Hf<SB>c1</SB>)<SB>x</SB>α<SB>y</SB>β<SB>100-x-y</SB>(where 0≤a1≤1, 0≤b1≤1, 0≤c1≤1, a1+b1+c1=1, 30≤x≤35, 30≤y≤35,αis at least one kind of atom selected from Ni and Co, andβis at least one kind of atom selected from Sn and Sb), has a MgAgAs-type crystal phase as its main phase, and has a density with 70.0 to 99.9% of a true density.
