PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of achieving arrival of an excavator, according to which the excavator can safely and positively excavate the ground and reach the interior of an arrival shaft by executing pipe-jacking work at a very deep location under high water pressure, without effusion of groundwater or earth into the arrival shaft. SOLUTION: According to the method of achieving arrival of the excavator, first an arrival shaft mouth wall consisting of a cylinder body having an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the excavator, and a ring rubber seal having a periphery thereof circumferentially fixed to a rear end of the cylinder body and having a hole smaller than the outer diameter of the excavator, at the center thereof, is fixed to an earth retaining wall of the arrival shaft, and a shielding wall is arranged at a front end of a guide cylinder having an outer diameter the same as that of the excavator. Then the guide cylinder is penetrated from a rear portion in the arrival shaft wall to the natural ground in front of the earth retaining wall, and the hole formed in the rubber seal is fitted from a rear end of the guide cylinder so as to fix a peripheral portion of the hole to the rear end of the cylinder body. Further a filler is injected from an injection hole formed in an outer periphery of the cylinder body into a gap between an inner periphery of the cylinder body and an outer periphery of the guide cylinder, and the excavator under advancing operation is fitted into the guide cylinder, whereby the excavator is guided by the guide cylinder until the arrival thereof at the arrival shaft.
