PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the more modified examples of a method and a apparatus each for separating foreign matters from a tobacco flow. SOLUTION: This method for separating the foreign matters from the tobacco flow (16), and the apparatus for separating the foreign matters from the tobacco flow (16) each comprises directly sending the tobacco flow (16) into the region of foreign-distinguishing devices (20, 22) with compressed air (12), confirming the foreign matters (17) in the tobacco flow (16) with the foreign-distinguishing devices (20, 22) on the basis of at least one characteristic, and then removing the foreign matters (17) from the tobacco flow (16). A device (supply device (10)) for supplying the tobacco (16) to the foreign-distinguishing devices (20, 22) and a foreign matter-separating device (23) are disposed.
