In a network scanner for reading an original document and forwarding read data to a designated terminal (3) connected to a network, an operating panel (17) provided on the network scanner allows a destination and other image data processing conditions to be entered from the scanner. Therefore, an operator can determine the various processing conditions as well as the destination of the transmission data from the scanner so that the operator is not required to travel back and forth between the scanner and terminal and the work efficiency can be improved.
