<p>A strip (12) of wrapping material is fed and cut into leaves (11) by a unit comprising first and second contrarotating rollers (26, 30) equipped with respective first and second blades of which the first blades (28, 31) operate as a pair to cut the strip (12) transversely into leaves (11), and the second blades (29, 32) operate as a pair to impress a transverse line (15) on each leaf, this line (15) combining with a longitudinal line (14), impressed by a further disc cutter (36), to create a "pull" portion (16) removable from the leaf by tearing. The timing of the second blades (29, 32) can be controlled, so as to adjust the position of the transverse tear-off line (15) on the leaf (11), by components interacting with the strip (12) along a predetermined feed path (P) extending between two decoiling rollers (24) and a cutting zone (33) that coincides with the line of substantially tangential proximity between the two cutter rollers (26, 30). <IMAGE></p> |
