Class 38 (1) A rectifier assembly 10 is supported in, and electrically connected to, a socket assembly 12 by connector lugs 20, 20a which grip the centre post 16 of the rectifier by means of tongues 30, and snap into sockets 40, 40a, each constructed of a single strip of metal held captive between two insulating plates 38, 36 of the socket assembly 12. The aperture 46a in the plate 36, the corresponding socket 40a and lug 20a are larger than the other aperture 46, socket 40, and lug 20 to ensure that the rectifier is inserted with correct polarity. The apertures 46, 46a in the plate 36 and 42; 42a in the plate 38 are of elongated shape to allow for the connection of rectifiers having different numbers of plates. |
