摘要 1,170,505. Automatic control of gas turbines. CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO. Feb. 20, 1967 [March 7, 1966], No. 7939/67. Heading G3R. A mechanical flow detector associated with the fuel supplied by a pump to the combustion chamber of a gas turbine produces an electrical proportional signal which automatically controls a valve diverting fuel from the pump away from the combustion chamber. In Fig. 3, rate of flow of fuel through a conduit 17 to the combustion space 16 of a gas turbine is measured by strain gauges 27c, T associated with a lever 23 on which the fuel exerts a pressure. The rate of flow is stabilized by applying the output of a bridge circuit 27, which includes the strain gauges, through transistor amplifiers 55, 80, 81, 56 to control the energization of a solenoid 110 adjusting a valve 13 by-passing fuel through a conduit 18 back to the input of an engine driven pump (not shown) supplying the fuel. A condenser 84 introduces an integral component of control and diodes 63, 66 limit output. An engine speed signal from a tachometer generator 21 is compared with a desired speed signal from an adjustable potentiometer 41, any difference being effective through amplifiers 53, 57 to maintain the desired speed by varying the datum value at which fuel flow is stabilized. When switches 60 are open a further integral component of control is introduced by condensers 61, 76. A resistor-diode network 54 associated with the output of tachometer generator 21 applies to the control system a signal which is a non-linear function of speed to compensate for varying fuel requirements with varying speed. An adjustable resistor network 31A, B ensures a predetermined minimum signal from bridge 27 to prevent flame-out when starting or decelerating.
