APPARATUS FOR SETTING A LINER IN A WELL CASING

An apparatus for setting a liner (1) in a casing (2) comprises a liner hange r (LH) and a running tool (100). The running tool (100) is provided with a valve seat (5) obstruction of which, in use, allows fluid pressure to be developed to set the liner hanger (LH) in the well casing (2). After the liner hanger (LH) has been set, the application of further pressure will displace the valve seat (5) to release (or at least enable) the running tool (100) to be released and to allow fluid flow throug h the running tool (100).
