FIELD: plug-and socket connectors for telecommunication and data transfer systems. ^ SUBSTANCE: one of alternatives is modular socket arranged so that it is free to turn through 90 deg. thereby reducing cross-talk level which is attained, to a certain extent, by adequate selection of position of contacts within socket shroud.
