A new single component polyorganosiloxane (POS) composition comprises: (a) a functionalized, crosslinkable linear POS; (b) optionally at least one other functionalized POS; (c) optionally a silane crosslinking agent; (d) optionally a linear, polydiorganosiloxane; (e) a biocide; (f) a filler; (g) a catalyst selected; and (h) optionally an auxiliary. A new single component polyorganosiloxane (POS) composition (I) is free (or contains less than 1000 ppm) of nucleophiles (specifically amines) and comprises: (a) at least one crosslinkable linear POS of formula (R2)a(Rf)3-aSi-O-(Si(R1)2-O)n-Si(R2)a(Rf)3-a (A); (b) optionally at least one POS (B) containing at least one functional group Rf and at least two different units selected from (R1)3SiO1/2 (M), (R1)2SiO2/2 (D), R1SiO3/2 (T) and SiO2 (Q) (at least one unit being (T) or (Q)), the content of Rf groups (part of which are groups R1) in (B) being 0-10 wt. %; (c) optionally at least one crosslinking agent of formula (R2)aSi(Rf)4-a (C); (d) optionally at least one linear, non-reactive, non-functionalized (i.e. Rf-free) polydiorganosiloxane of formula (R1)3Si-O-(Si(R1)2-O)m-Si(R1)3 (D); (e) at least one biocide (E) selected from heterocycles containing sulfur and/or nitrogen, carbamic acid derivatives and monocyclic or fused polycyclic aromatic compounds (preferably isothiazolone derivatives, halogenated and sulfonated toluene derivatives, sulfones, carbamates or benzimidazoles); (f) a filler (F), preferably based on silica and/or carbonate; (g) at least one crosslinking/curing catalyst (G) selected from salts (preferably mono- or dicarboxylates) of tin, zinc, iron, lead, barium, manganese or zirconium and organotitanium compounds; and (h) optionally at least one non-nucleophilic (specifically non-aminated) auxiliary (H). R1, R2 = optionally substituted, saturated or unsaturated, aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic 1-13C hydrocarbyl (same or different); Rf = (R3)2C=N-O-, R4O-(CH2CH2O)b- or R5COO- (same or different); R3 = 1-8C alkyl, 3-8C cycloalkyl or 2-8C alkenyl; R4 = 1-8C alkyl or 3-8C cycloalkyl; b = 0 or 1; R5 = as R1; a, b = 0 or 1; n = number such that (A) has a dynamic viscosity of 1000-1000000 mPa.s at 25 deg C; m = number such that (D) has a dynamic viscosity of 10-200000 mPa.s at 25 deg C. An Independent claim is included for new elastomers (II) obtained by crosslinking and curing (I). |
