The device has a motorized winding and unwinding system (1) with two driving rollers (2, 3) that are integrated to a frame (4) by two rotational axes (5, 6), respectively. A pre-printed base (7) is unwound on the rollers, and stressed by compression rollers (8) placed on the rollers. The base is guided by other three rollers (9-11). The system is coupled to an existing hollow printing system (12). An independent claim is also included for a method of intaglio printing labels.
