The process involves transmitting a hardware identifier (CIM) of a mobile terminal (TM), from the terminal towards a management unit (UG). A software identifier (CIL) is created by the management unit. The hardware and software identifiers are associated through the unit (UG) to form a couple of identifiers. The couple of identifiers formed by the software and hardware identifiers are stored in the mobile terminal. An independent claim is also included for a data transmission system including a portable device and implementing a data transmission process.
