The detector has a photosensitive sensor (1) associated to a scintillator (5). The scintillator transforms radiation into a radiation to which the sensor is sensitive. An adhesive film (6) bonds the scintillator on the sensor. The assembly formed by the sensor, film and scintillator is vacuum pressed and heated. An inlet window (10) is placed on the scintillator without being fixed on the scintillator. An independent claim is also included for a process for forming an X-ray detector.
