PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collapsible portable telephone equipped with a tactile type calling device performing comparatively largely displaceable. SOLUTION: The collapsible portable telephone 1 whose main part apparatus 3 and lid apparatus 4 are relatively openable and closable with a hinge coupling portion 2, is equipped with an elastic means for urging and returning the lid apparatus 4 and the main apparatus 3 in a lid closing direction. On the other end side of the main apparatus 3, an electromagnet 10 is built in. On the other end side of the lid apparatus 4, a permanent magnet 20 is built in. When the lid is in a closed state, the core ends 12A, 12B of the electromagnet 10 face the magnetic pole faces S, N of the permanent magnet 20 respectively. The built-in board of the main apparatus 3 is equipped with a current control circuit for causing a pulse current to flow in each coil 14A, 14B of the electromagnet 10 unidirectionally on the occasion of reception of a call termination signal.
