PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyester-based artificial hair which maintains the fiber characteristics, such as heat resistance, strength and elongation, of ordinary polyester fibers, has excellent setting property, touch and transparency, and has extremely high flame retardancy. SOLUTION: This flame retardant polyester-based artificial hair which maintains the fiber characteristics, such as heat resistance, strength and elongation, of ordinary polyester fibers, and has excellent setting property, touch and transparency is obtained by melt-spinning a polyester composition containing a bromine-containing flame retardant, an antimony compound having an average particle diameter of≤0.2μm, and further a phosphite-based compound.
