PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen occlusion alloy which is not only large in hydrogen occlusion capacity, but is high in the rate of occlusion and can efficiently and easily discharge hydrogen. SOLUTION: The hydrogen occlusion alloy is≤1,000 wt ppm in the total content of metal impurities in the alloy other than alloy constitutive elements. Also, the hydrogen occlusion alloy is≤500 wt ppm in the total content of metal impurities in the alloy other than alloy constitutive elements.
