PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejector capable of easily and surely securing an absorber to the inside of the body of a cap member without forming a caulking part, and to provide a liquid suction unit of a liquid ejection head. SOLUTION: The liquid suction unit 20 comprises a body capable of sealing nozzle openings 55A, 55B, 55C and 55D by adhering to the nozzle surface 61 and provided with a projection member 150 projecting from the inside of the body, an absorber 90 arranged in the body in order to absorb a liquid from the nozzle openings 55A, 55B, 55C and 55D, a pressing member 130 for pressing the absorber 90 passed through the projection member 150 by clamping it together with the bottom part in the body wherein the pressing member 130 has securing parts 300, 301 and 302 for securing the pressing member 130 to the outer circumferential part 159 of the projection member 150 by engaging mechanically with the outer circumferential part 159 of the projection member 150.
