PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for an internal combustion engine for assuring favorable time link between injection and ignition. SOLUTION: In this control method for an internal combustion engine, pulse time is generated from an angle pulse of a sensor, the time pulse being scale to rotation by the time unit of a crankshaft in the internal combustion engine, so that ignition of an ignition plug and fuel injection are conducted at a prescribed target angle of the crankshaft. Charge of the ignition coil prior to ignition and injection respectively need prescribed continuity time, and charging and injection are started at respective start time before the target angle. By considering continuity time of charging, time offset of injection to the target angle, and the pulse time, the start time is determined.
