Pre-coated composite components and method of coating the composite precursors with a polymeric resin that is cured on the surface of the components are provided. The pre-coated composite components may be in a variety of forms including fasteners, brackets, fittings, and the like. The pre-coating of the composite components improves the compatibility of the components with other, dissimilar composite and metallic materials.
