<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the factor causing the blackening, whitening, extinction or the like in a luminous lamp since the luminous lamp can not efficiently be cooled only by introducing the open air inside a reflection mirror, and the temperature of the luminous lamp rises more than guaranteed temperature to shorten the service life of the luminous lamp unanticipatedly. <P>SOLUTION: This light source device is provided with: the reflection mirror 1 whose shape at vertical cross section forms approximate U-shape and whose side on the opening side an inlet 2a and an outlet 2b are provided; a metal halide lamp 5 installed at a center part of the reflector; and an air intake duct 12 provided outside the inlet 2a to guide the open air in the reflection mirror 1. The air intake duct 12 is arranged by inclining an introduction angle α of the open air by a predetermined angle to a light axis of the metal halide lamp 5 so as to guide the open air to the metal halide lamp 5 and to generate convection of the air inside the reflector 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
