PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway apparatus for raising efficiency in a processing. SOLUTION: The gateway device comprises: a call control relay processing part for conducting protocol conversion for call control and relaying communication between a call controller and a voice communication compliant terminal which are arranged in a network; a sound relay processing part for conducting the protocol conversion halfway when voice communication is performed between the self-stored voice communication compliant terminals and conducting the protocol conversion when the voice communication is performed between the self-stored voice communication compliant terminal and a communication apparatus in the network without self-storage; and a transmission line for internal voice communication for relaying the voice communication between the self-stored voice communication compliant terminals when the protocol conversion is conducted halfway.
