PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a electrostatic float furnace achieving a smaller size and a lighter weight to be mountable on a relatively small aircraft and achieving a smaller size and a lighter weight as a whole system while easily coping with maintenance. SOLUTION: The electrostatic float furnace gives heat treatment to a charged sample P after put into a floating condition by an electric field generated between electrodes. It comprises an upper container 2 and a lower container 3 joined to each other to form a sealed container 1 to be evacuated, an access window 4 formed of a material into which a heating laser beam L is permeable for heating the sample and provided on the upper face side of the upper container 2, and the electrodes 5-9 arranged in the internal space of the lower container 2 for charging the sample P and controlling the floating sample.
