PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilt compensation method and a device, and an optical recording and/or reproduction device applied with it. SOLUTION: The tilt compensation method and the device have stages where: any one of values among the values of jitter best, an RF envelope and a FODC value is acquired from a signal for detecting a ROM data area; this acquired value is decided if within an allowance or not; if within the allowance, an initial skew compensation value is acquired using the value; if not within the allowance, current fed to an actuator, in which at least 3 axis drive is possible, is made variable so that an objective lens for an optical pickup assembly is driven in a direction toward radial tilt; a process for acquiring any one of the values among the values of the jitter best, the RF envelope and the FODC value is iterated, and intensity of the current is altered until the acquired value comes within the allowance. What is described above enables the tilt for the objective lens to an optical information preserving medium to be compensated in the optical recording and/or the reproduction device.
