PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open showcase for preventing water thawed by defrosting operation of one evaporator from being cooled and iced again by cooling operation of the other evaporator. SOLUTION: One evaporator 15 is switched from cooling operation into defrosting operation, whereby frost and ice formed on the evaporator 15 is thawed. Water produced by the thawing passes through an independent water guide member 21 without being affected by the other evaporator 16 having cooling operation, and it is smoothly drained through drain passages 25, 26 to the outside of an outer case 3. Thus, the water thawed by the defrosting operation of one evaporator 15 is prevented from cooled and iced again by the cooling operation of the other evaporator 16. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
