PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Japanese paper having high decorative property by including Japanese paper into ungranulated bamboo charcoal. SOLUTION: The decorated Japanese paper is constituted by arranging ungranulated bamboo charcoal in Japanese paper to appear as a pattern. In this case, when the decorated Japanese paper is constituted by putting ungranulated bamboo charcoal between two sheets of Japanese paper materials to integrate the Japanese paper, the pattern of bamboo charcoal can be attracted. The method for producing the decorated Japanese paper comprises putting ungranulated bamboo charcoal on a paper-made Japanese paper material, superposing paper-made Japanese paper material thereon, squeezing water of the Japanese paper material by applying gravity thereon and then drying the Japanese paper.
