PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous dispersion, enabling the use of hardly water soluble ultraviolet light polymerization initiator in water, and also satisfying the preservation stability as the aqueous dispersion and physical properties such as close adhesion, solvent resistance, etc., on making it a coated film. SOLUTION: This method for producing the aqueous resin dispersion is characterized by making an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (M), a surfactant (S), an ultraviolet light polymerization initiator (P) and water as an emulsified state and performing an emulsion polymerization by using an emulsion polymerization initiator (I).
