<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing quality inspection device which performs an inspection of the printing quality state of a sheet on which printing has been applied, eliminates defective sheets, and at the same time, can print the defect information in a margin region of the defective sheet. <P>SOLUTION: Multiple surface sheets being inspection objects are continuously fed, and a specified image on the multiple surface sheets is read by a scanner by a non-contact manner. The image and a reference image recorded in advance are compared and judgment of defective sheets and acceptable sheets is made by a printing state judging device to discriminate the defective sheets and acceptable sheets. The judged defective sheets and acceptable sheets are discharged to dedicated discharged paper piles which are individually provided.
