<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable and proper exposure of high reliability as surely as possible. <P>SOLUTION: Ratios R(i) of luminance values P(i) in photometric areas A0 to A22 just before pre-light emission to luminance values H(i) in the photometric areas A0 to A22 during pre-light emission are calculated with respect to photometric areas A0 to A22 respectively, and the largest value out of values of ratios R(i) in the photometric areas A0 to A22 is extracted as a reference value baseR, and the extracted reference value baseR is compared with values of calculated ratios R(i) in the photometric areas A0 to A22 to obtain weighting coefficients W(i) for photometric areas A0 to A22, and the obtained weighting coefficients W(i) are used to calculate a weighting average of reflected light of a subject, and the calculated weighting average is used to calculate the quantity of light emission for obtaining a proper exposure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
